As director of our documentary it is highly important that I have a clear visualisation of how I would like the documentary to look like, therefore I must be aware of what shots we would like to use, what we are filming with, music and other elements to create the right asthetics for our documentary.

Shot Types

I feel that when filming our primary whist driving, it would benefit us and the audience if we were to use a shallow depth of field shot, only focusing on the primary himself, leaving the scenery outside the car throughly out of focus. I feel that this is necessary as it will draw the viewers eye to our primary and will not be distracted by people and objects out of the veichle. (See Image One below).

As well as this I have also visualised a number of more artistic shots to be used as cut away shots when our primary is answering our question. These shot will link to what our primary is talking about, for exmaple, when he is talking about his job as a taxi driver it would be appropriet to show him doing this. Therefore I am intersted in creating a shallow focus shot on our primary through the review mirror. (See Image Two below).

Music

In terms of music for our documentary I do not only feel that the music should not only fit in with the location of our documentary, but also with the personality of our primary. Therefore we are currently in the process of receiving permission from Vondelpark (see below) to use a piece of their music. This particual, I feel, will fit in well with the asthetics of our documentary as it has an urban upbeat sound, which links directly with our location and our primaries positive outlook. However, we have not yet received confimation from the artist that we can use it.

Equiptment

From speaking to both the DOP and the Producer it is clear that we would all members of the production team would like to use 550D camera to shoot our documentary on as the quality of the image is far supiror than other stills and film camera. However, with this in mind, we will also need a mirantz in order to get a clearer quality of sound that the 550D doesnot produce. As well as this, other equiptment that we will be using will be a shoulder mount, tri-pod/glider as well as the possibliity of using bullet cameras inorder to capture footage from outside the taxi.
